Let’s go back in time to 2001, the year I joined the Irish Army.
I was 18 years old, at this point, i had failed at trying to become an electrical engineer, as well as going back to college to study Business and Computers. I knew my life of having a career was slowly fading away. The army interested me, so i said to myself, “if i make it into the army and pass the six months intense training, i could finally say i had a career.” So this is what i done. The training was very tough and gruelling that required physical and mental strength.
After six months, i finally became a private soldier in the Irish Army. I was so happy and relieved that i got through that six months. I could finally say i didn’t quit, i didn’t stop, i am not a failure. My family were very proud.
I went on to spend 16 years in the Irish Army. I had many different roles within the army. I served overseas in Lebanon and in Kosovo with the United Nation’s on peace keeping missions. I played football for the Irish Army in the World Military Games in India 2007.
I had a great career, i have great memories, and i made some great friends along the way. But it came to a point in my life where i didn’t want to get out of bed to go to work. I had enough of security detail’s and the strict regime. So i left and went to work for a print on demand business. I was so intrigued with the online side of thing’s. I started trying to grow the business through different social media platforms but failed. I kept searching, i noticed that the company had not really pushed Amazon. I got my teeth into learning everything i possibly could about how Amazon worked and their algorithm. It was a slow process, but it paid off. I took over as the digital marketing director and grew the company from 40k a year to 1.9 million a year over four years.
