What Should My 3-Year-Old Be Able to Do?

Question: "My 3-year-old is not talking as much as other kids their age. Should I be concerned?"

Sample Answer: "It’s normal for children to develop at their own pace. By age 3, most kids can say a few hundred words and form simple sentences. If your child is struggling with speech, it’s worth discussing with a pediatrician or speech therapist. In the meantime, reading and talking to your child regularly can help."
